The tradition used to be that you learn skiing and then transition to snowboarding after the age of around 8 years old. The logic behind that? People came up with all sorts of reasons, it’s bad for growing bones, lack of balance, and so on.

That ‘conventional’ wisdom however has seen a recent shift, with campaigns such as Burton Snowboards’ ‘If you can stand, you can ride’ or our very own ‘Shreddy’ program geared towards teaching toddlers ages 2-4 how to snowboard.
